Hi, I’m Joseph “Rico” Connolly and I’m a self-taught Maryland-based film photographer. My personal philosophy is that photography should be an extension of the photographer and, in its own way, should reflect the human condition or what it means to be human. That is to say that, I believe true meaning and emotion are found in both imperfection and impermanence. This is one of the reasons I shoot on film instead of digitally. To me, film is a better way to represent what I see and imagine because I believe mistakes and imperfection are the epitome of life. I want my work to make you think, feel, ask, or answer.
